Transforming Ocean-Bound Waste into Environmental Waves

Introducing Oceanos, our latest innovation in Tree Shelters, manufactured from Oceanomer, a innovative recycled plastic material composed of a minimum of 50% recycled ocean-bound and post-consumer waste. Oceanos offers all the benefits of a conventional tree shelter whilst contributing to cleaner oceans and waterways.

Oceanos Tree Shelters

We’ve focused our research into conquering the challenge of using difficult-to-recycle plastics to deliver high performance while keeping prices competitive.

Environmental Impact

Carbon Footprint Reduced

Oceanomer reduces emissions by up to 228kg for every hectare of tree planting compared to traditional shelters.

Litter Recovered

1 hectare of tree planting prevents up to 150kg of abandoned plastics from entering the environment, waterways and oceans.

Fossil Fuel Avoided

Oceanos helps reduce our reliance on fossil fuels, saving about 219L of crude oil from being processed into new plastics.

Why Ocean-Bound and Post-Consumer Waste?

Ocean-Bound and Post-Consumer waste are some of the hardest materials to recycle. Not only must they be retrieved from hard-to-reach places but their exposure to the elements also makes them difficult to process.

However, Rainbow believes in the value of our oceans and waterways, and playing out part in their preservation.

Our research and innovation team worked on ways to incorporate this waste stream into our production processes, and Oceanos was born.
